A public service announcement about forest fires. I found this in a 6 April 1952 TV episode (search that date and you should be able to find it), but I'm not sure when it first aired...for all I know, it may have first aired in a previous year. Unfortunately, the closing moments of the PSA were cut-off during its broadcast in the program. Please note that the song in this PSA is presumably still copyrighted. I would request that if you upload this to YouTube, that you don't use my first person... Topics: Classic PSA, Public Service Announcement, 1952
A video that I (Argall) put together, consisting of four excepts from B&W-era US television, each featuring an Asian or Asian-American. Clip 1 consists of Keye Luke doing a very stereotypical sketch on a 1949 episode of "Texaco Star Theater", clip 2 is from a 1952 episode of "See It Now" (a current affairs show), clip 3 is a clip of a Korean-American woman appearing on popular quiz show "You Bet Your Life", and clip 4 is a 1958 clip of Japanese-American... This 1952 commercial for Lucky Strike cigarettes, Dorothy Collins appears, and there's a male announcer who informs us about the "perfect cylinder". Topics: Classic TV Commercial, 1952, Lucky Strike, Dorothy Collins, Advertising, Cigarettes
Another commercial for Ajax. Picture quality is poor. The animated part of the commercial is probably older than 1952...but the live-action segment may be from 1951/1952. Topics: Classic TV Commercial, Advertising, Advertisement, Ajax, Cleaning, Perfect Housewife, 1952
A commercial for Listerine mouthwash from 1952. Personally, I think this commercial was already a bit dated when it first aired as part of well-made prime-time television series. Topics: 1950s, 50s, Classic TV, Classic TV Commercial, Advertising, Fifties, 1952
An unusual and corny animated commercial for PET Evaporated Milk. I believe this commercial is from 1952. Features a cowboy theme. Topics: Classic TV Commercial, Advertising, Pet Evaporated Milk, Cowboy, Corny, 1952
A 1952 PSA for the United States marines. I took this PSA from a late-night TV program, but it looks like it may have also been issued theatrically...can anyone confirm or deny this? Topics: Classic PSA, 1950s, 1952, Marines, Public Service Announcement
Another 1952 commercial for Wonder Bread. I like 1950s commercials, but this one isn't good...it's unpleasantly dated. I also uploaded the episode it comes from Topics: 1952, Wonder Bread, Advertising, Classic TV Commercial, Advertisement, Bread
A very strange variety show! It's a variety show with a plot, not unheard of during the 1950s. Not registered with the US copyright office, so probably public domain. Topics: Classic TV, Television, 1950s, Variety show, 1952

A 1952 commercial for Reynolds Aluminum, filmed partially in Jamaica. "Progress". Unfortunately, I made a mistake in the encoding of this video. Topics: Classic TV Commercials, 1952, 1950s, Jamaica, Advertising, Advertisement, Retro, Old
An episode of "Dagmar's Canteen", a NBC variety series. This was one of the earliest late-night programs, broadcast at 12:15AM on Sundays. This copy is complete with the original public service announcements, as it appears the series was unable to obtain a sponsor (understandable given the limited audiences early late-night series had). A 1952 cartoon commercial for Bab-O cleanser. This commercial features a Pocahontas/John Smith theme. Topics: Classic TV Commercial, Advertising, Advertisement, 1950s, 50s, Fifties, 1952, Cleaning, Cleaner
Not sure if this video is legal or not, but here is a compilation I put together of clips from public domain US television shows of 1952. Included are clips from NBC, ABC, CBS, DuMont and first-run syndication. I give a brief intro. (note: this compilation runs shorter than an actual prime-time show of the period). Topics: Classic TV, Early Television, 1950s, Excerpts from 1950s Television, 1952, Television
Another animated commercial for Bab-O cleaner. This one features a cornball Cinderella theme. May have actually first aired in 1951. Topics: Classic TV Commercial, 1950s, 50s, Fifties, Advertising, Advertisement, Not edible, 1952, Cleaner,...
Popular entertainment from the 1950s. Howdy Doody is running for president, and Mr. X is running against him. There's also comedy provided by some telegrams, more comedy provided by Clarabell the Clown trying to campaign for Mr. X, plus an interesting silent film excerpt, and further comedy provided by the occasionally out-of-focus cameras. But the show aired live, so I'll forgive it. There's also the original commercials for the ever-popular Colgate toothpaste and Rice Krispies (one of them... An episode of "Howdy Doody", NBC's hit TV series. Highlights include the "Howdy Doody Do" song. Lowlights include an awkward excerpt from a Mickey McGuire film. Contains the original, not very good commercials. I am pretty sure most of this episode aired live, since that was usually the case with children's shows of the period (elements that were definitely *not* live include the film excerpt, one of the commercials, and Howdy Doody's voice, which was pre-recorded)....
